Ditto has selected creative PR agency Numen to manage its PR activities and public profiling. Designed for patients and their loved ones, the Ditto app assists in preparing for medical appointments, translating and clarifying discussions through clear summaries, and easily sharing information with family and friends. Numen will support Ditto in building its brand reputation, handling everything from press strategy to positioning the founders within the public healthcare debate.
The fast-paced pitch process, moving from initial contact to final selection in under a week, required flexibility from both sides. That speed served as an immediate test, proving that Ditto and Numen share a similar culture and a "can-do" mindset.
The demand for an app like Ditto is substantial. Patients forget up to 60 percent of what a doctor tells them during a consultation, and three-quarters of medical information is inadequately understood. Ditto records the conversation and generates a concise summary, which users can choose to share with a partner, child, or caregiver. Currently, 40% of generated summaries are shared by patients, saving them from having to repeat their story multiple times. Since its launch last summer, the app has been downloaded over 130,000 times and won the Dutch National Healthcare Innovation Award (Nationale Zorginnovatieprijs) 2026. The Ikazia Hospital in Rotterdam actively uses it, health insurer Menzis recommends it to policyholders, and the Dutch Patients Federation (Patiëntenfederatie) has publicly expressed its support.
Bart Voorn, co-founder of Ditto, explains the choice of agency: "We were looking for a partner who doesn't start with what we want to say as an organization, but rather looks at what is happening in society first. Numen combines that journalistic eye with strategic foresight, speed, and a strong media network. Numen immediately understood that we didn't need a traditional PR strategy, but a plan that shapes the public agenda. This will help us become a recognizable voice for patients, loved ones, and technology in healthcare. Numen recognizes that technology can play a major positive role in people's lives and health. What we do at Ditto is unique, and Numen saw that immediately."
Kirsten Peterse, co-founder of Numen, adds: "Everyone knows someone going through a healthcare journey—a parent, a partner, or even themselves. That makes Ditto's story deeply relatable and socially relevant, which is precisely what drives us at Numen. We tell the stories of organizations that play an important role in society. Right from the start, we felt a shared energy with Ditto—we are both flexible, fast, and ambitious. I look forward to the upcoming period, especially given the exciting innovations, partnerships, and creative campaigns coming up in the near future."
